Fred Folliott literally “set up camp” in the Canadian Rockies some 32 years ago eventually earning his ACMG hiking / backpacking guide designation in 1996. In the late 90’s Fred was contracted by the local Headwaters Health Authority to lead the Smoke Free Bow Valley Coalition and has been with Addiction and Mental Health Services ever since. Fred had the privilege of serving the Lake Louise community directly for 10 years as a counsellor shifting back to Banff / Canmore in recent years. Fred is a firm believer in the adage: “It takes a village” meaning the community holds the knowledge &; wisdom to care for whomever decides to call the Bow Valley home (for a season or a lifetime). Being a “Lake Louise Local” is all about living your best life while supporting others to find & explore their passions.
