About the Event

We invite you to see how the Banff Mineral Springs Hospital cares for you, our community, as we kick-off Banff Mental Health and Addiction Week. Join us on tours through the newly renovated emergency department triage area, palliative care room, and EMS crew quarters - provided through generous community donations. Have a tea with St. Martha’s seniors, walk the Labyrinth, or check out a Simulation Demo. You can also connect with a healthcare professional who’s part of the hospital based urgent mental health program. We welcome you to see how we can help when life presents you with bumps in the road.

About the Host

The Banff Mineral Springs Hospital is an acute care facility as well as a continuing care centre. We provide a wide range of health services to the local community and visitors from around the world.

Covenant Foundation proudly supports Covenant Health, Covenant Care and Covenant Living and their 155-year legacy of healing the body, enriching the mind and nurturing the soul. The foundation raises funds to invest in compassionate programs, leading-edge research and training, enhanced care spaces and state-of-the-art equipment at 22 Covenant hospitals and continuing care facilities across Alberta. Focusing philanthropic support on health issues facing vulnerable and under-served populations, and on the unmet needs of communities, the foundation’s priority areas include seniors’ health and well-being, mental health and addictions, rural care, palliative care, women and children’s health, and spiritual care and mission.

Over the past two years, BMHAW has brought together partners from health, hospitality, community foundations, and residents to foster meaningful conversations and actions around mental health.

As BMHAW enters a potential new phase, the initiative is seeking a committed and community-minded Volunteer Chair to lead the next chapter of this important work.

The Chair is a liaison and figurehead role, distinct from day-to-day coordination. Coordination will be done by a paid position. The Chair will guide the initiative strategically while fostering collaboration among stakeholders.

  • Ability to build consensus and foster collaboration

  • Commitment to building mental health awareness

Next Steps

We are currently in a restructuring phase, and looking for a new chair by mid-September 2025. When the chair is appointed they will begin the new cycle of BMHAW including onboarding, transfer of key materials (e.g., bank account, website, social media), and hiring a new Coordinator.
