About the Event

Parents/Caregivers (pre/postnatal) and their children are invited to join Cara Crawford, Early Years Family Support Worker and Mary Weighell, Family Connection Centre Supervisor, for an afternoon program focused on mental health.

This program will be offered in 2 sections, the first 45 minutes will be focused on parent/caregiver mental health and well-being. Participants will explore tools for self-compassion and mindfulness, while engaging in discussions with other families who are raising children in a remote community. Children will be in childminding for the first part of this program. The second portion of our mental health session will include the whole family. Children and their caregivers can participate in creating some take-home resources/tools focused on building social emotional wellbeing.

Children are welcome and encouraged to attend. Pregnant parents, people planning to start a family, and people who support families are welcome to attend.
